Debut, test, first race: with those initial milestones out of the way, RSR continues to focus on preparation for 2010, which will see the team field an RSR built Jaguar XKR GT in the 2010 American Le Mans Series (ALMS) championship.

The RSR Jaguar XKR GT2 took its first green flag today at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and put on a performance that has the team pleased with its weekend efforts and ready to continue preparation for a full-season American Le Mans Series effort in 2010.

After a successful  debut of the Jaguar XKR GT2 race car at the Petit Le Mans and some private testing, RSR is set to take the green flag for competition in the 2009 American Le Mans Series’ finale at Laguna Seca, October 10.

The RSR Jaguar XKR GT2 put on a show of its own with an official unveiling and running demonstration laps ahead of today’s Petit Le Mans endurance event at Road Atlanta.

In preparation for a full championship effort in 2010, RSR has entered the Jaguar XKR GT2 in the American Le Mans Series’ famed event the Petit Le Mans with the intention to introduce the car and utilize the track time for testing and development. The Jaguar brand is launched into what everyone considers the deepest GT2 class in the history of the ALMS and will have to face off against the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Corvette, Viper, and Ford.
